Savile Row and back. The journey that is
Everwear Denim.
Our Story
Everwear Denim is a unique Australian denim label, making and selling bespoke and small batch selvedge denim garments from Factory 3 on the Mornington Peninsula.
We combine a love for perfectly fitting denim garments, made from beautiful
hardwearing quality materials, crafted locally by hand on period correct sewing
machines. We are inspired by the craft of purposeful and considered design and making items to last a lifetime. We use a mix of traditional tailoring techniques and vintage designs to create our garments.
We love combining cut, materials and make to craft the perfect denim garment for each individual looking for garments made by hand locally in Australia.
Passionate about sustainability, we try to minimise the environmental impact of making denim garments. We use quality materials and offer a lifetime repair policy that discourages fast fashion.
The denim maker: Lee
Founder and maker Lee May’s passion for sewing started as a 14-year when he was gifted a Union Special overlocker and set about learning to make a pair of jeans.
After graduating from Fashion, Lee spent seven years working as a Tailor on London Savile Row. This included a three-year cutting apprenticeship at Hardy Amies + Kilgour under the tutelage of Head Cutter Will Adams. Lee spent the next three years at the fashion house Alexander McQueen as a cutter and tailor in the bespoke department. He worked with McQueen’s VIP clients including Royalty, Rockstars and on Paris runway shows.
Since returning to Australia in 2020 Lee set up Everwear Denim. Passionate about manufacturing Lee chose to out together a boutique size workshop, comprising of a wide range of vintage sewing machines, sourced locally and restored by Lee himself.
Lee also has a passion for vintage clothes, good coffee, cars/motorcycles and surf. All of which is combined into and influences the workshop space.
